After excessive jail time and battle with substance abuse, DMX plots a return for the spotlight in 2012. The Yonkers breed emcee will release his seventh album, Undisputed, on March 27 via United Music & Media Group. The set’s first single, “Already,” premieres in the coming weeks.
Undisputed will feature guest spots from Busta Rhymes, Tyrese, and Jennifer Hudson, with production from Swizz Beatz and Deezle (“Lollipop”).
“Expect the unexpected. Expect the new improved,” his longtime collaborator Swizz Beatz previously told Rap-Up of the new project. “Expect hip-hop. Expect real music. Expect the Dog to be back.”
Over the years, X’s popularity has declined, but there’s no denying his success in the late ’90s/early ’00s. He’s only artist in the history of the Billboard to have his first five albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200.
