Since Pharrell has been booking studio time with a lot of artists lately, I’m personally guessing he’s working on a solo album. We hope that’s true.
Veteran Bronx MC Peter Gunz confirmed to MTV News early Sunday (January 29) that his son, rapper Cory Gunz, was arrested for gun possession in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday afternoon.
"The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx," Gunz told MTV News. "They caught him around 2 p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack.
"It was definitely an illegal search," Peter added.

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly's tour took an unexpected stop early this morning -- to jail ... after he was busted by police in Florida for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
According to the website for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, MGK (real name Richard Baker) was busted at 4:12 AM and released a few hours later after posting $100 bond.

It looks like Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter, Billboard-record-breaking Blue Ivy Carter, is going to be set for several lifetimes, because the proud parents have named none other than Oprah Winfrey as the child's godmother. That's right, two of music's biggest stars and one of the world's wealthiest and most powerful women will be looking after baby Carter. We can only imagine the kind of gifts this kid's going to receive.

Broadcasting & Cable broke the news on Monday that Combs will be launching Revolt, a music-themed channel slated to go live on December 12, 2012.

Hip Hop is making a difference for African students in the Congo this winter. Premier music web site Rapzilla.com in conjunction with Syntax Distribution releases the compilation album King Kulture on January 31st. Proceeds from the album benefit Ecole de la Borne, a school in the Congo with scholarships and school supplies.
The
idea came about when Rapzilla founder Philip Rood and his team were looking for
ways to expand the web site’s charitable reach. “We wanted to give proceeds
from a project to some kind of charity in Africa,” Rood says. “It hit me that
my grandparents are missionaries in the Congo. We can do something with them.”Rood’s grandfather, Jacques Vernaud, was born in the jungles of Africa and started preaching in the 1950s. He married a medical missionary nurse, and their ministry work thrived through church planting. In 1981, the seeds for the school were planted when the Vernauds started ministry targeting the French-speaking people of the Congo.
Vernaud became known as a church planter and a significant figure in the evangelical history of the Congo. But it didn’t stop there. By 1989, he and his wife established the Christian Congolese kindergarten Ecole de la Borne in Kinshasa, Congo. It expanded to an elementary school five years later. Today, Ecole de la Borne also has a high school with nearly 400 students in total where Children receiving a Bible-based.

Even though he's had trouble dropping even one album as of late, it appears 50 Cent has plans to drop two.
In an interview with Forbes, Fif explained that he's recorded a significant amount of material in recent time. "This time I'm not sure I'll tour the world like I did on my last project because it makes my album cycles two years long. I think I'd like to launch this record and come back and launch another record following it because it's been three years since my last album, so I've recorded so much material that I'm really excited about trying to get those ideas to the...public so they get a chance to hear it and appreciate it."
"I kinda think you have to keep the audience engaged a little more [these days]," added 50. "There's a lot of new material that comes out. But it's not from established artists."
"I just felt like because I created so much, I wanted to get it out to them. I'm always excited about the newest idea for myself."

Diggy hopped on Twitter today to reveal the title to his debut album, Unexpected Arrival. GlobalGrind spoke with Diggy a few months ago, but he hadn't decided what he was going to title his debut album.
Besides announcing his album title, GlobalGrind suspects Diggy has another unexpected surprise up his sleeve.

Two-time GRAMMY winner LL Cool J is set to host the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards, marking the first time in seven years that the music industry's premier event will have an official host.
"I'm thrilled to be part of Music's Biggest Night," said LL Cool J. "I will always have fond memories of my first GRAMMY Awards and to now be hosting the GRAMMY show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music — it's gonna be a great night!"
In his appearance on Kimmel, Ne-Yo described what it was like going to high school in Las Vegas, trying not to lose his composure while working with a legend and the struggles that George Lucas went through to get Red Tails produced. In the films that centers around the story of the Tuskegee Airman, Ne-Yo plays a fighter pilot named Andrew ‘Smoky’ Salem. Red Tails, a film by George Lucas, flies into theaters this Friday, Jan. 20.

Drizzy is selling the Miami condos where he shot the video for “I’m on One.”
