Chris Brown has a message for his haters. Following the backlash from his appearance at the Grammys, the R&B singer took to Twitter to defend himself.

Brown performed twice at Sunday’s show and won the Grammy for Best R&B Album for F.A.M.E. His warm embrace sparked outrage from some viewers and artists in the industry, who did not approve of all the positive attention he was receiving three years after his assault on Rihanna.

Country singer Miranda Lambert tweeted her disapproval. “He beat on a girl…not cool that we act like that didn’t happen,” she wrote, while Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich defended Brown. “I just believe people deserve a second chance,” he told the AP. “The year he had this year, really brought him back into the public. He really deserved a second chance.”

Breezy fired back at his critics in a series of tweets, which he later deleted.

“Strange how we pick and choose who to hate! Let me ask u this,” he began. “Our society is full of rappers (which I listen to) who have sold drugs (poisoning), but yet we glorify them and imitate everything they do.”

He continued, “Then right before the worlds eyes a man shows how he can make a Big mistake and learn from it, but still has to deal with day to day hatred! You guys who to hate!!! But guess what??? HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate FUCK OFF!”

Brown’s new single “Turn Up the Music” is currently in the top 10 on iTunes, while his album Fortune is due this spring. “IM BACK SO WATCH MY BaCK as I walk away from all this negativity #teambreezygrammy,” he proclaimed.
